Draftsperson / Project Designer – Roofing & Cladding
Durham
£40,000 – £60,000 DOE
Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is proud to partner with a thriving, forward-thinking Roofing & Cladding Contractor renowned for delivering high-quality building envelope solutions across commercial, industrial, and high-rise developments throughout the North of England.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company with strong core values, a genuinely supportive team culture, and a secure pipeline of projects for years to come. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to add an experienced Draftsperson / Project Designer to their established Drawing Office team.
The Opportunity
You will join a collaborative in-house design team consisting of a Design Director, Design Manager, and several Project Designers, working closely with Buying, Commercial, and Contracts teams in a truly team-focused environment.
This role would suit someone with 5+ years’ experience in roofing and cladding who is comfortable both collaborating with others and working independently to deliver high-quality design packages.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce 2D GA and detailed construction drawings
* Prepare material schedules and fabrication drawings
* Attend and contribute to design team meetings (including minute taking)
* Attend internal handover and design review meetings
* Carry out occasional site visits
* Plan and manage workload to meet project deadlines
* Proactively gather all required technical information
* Follow established company procedures and quality standards
Skills & Experience Required
* Strong organisational skills and self-motivation
* Solid technical knowledge of roofing and cladding systems, including:
* Single-ply
* Hot melt
* Standing seam
* Built-up systems
* Composite roofing and wall systems
* Rainscreen façade experience (desirable)
* Proficient in AutoCAD (2D) and Microsoft Office
* Exposure to 3D modelling (AutoCAD 3D, Revit, Rhino, or similar) is advantageous
