Drainage Engineer | £35-40K + D2D Travel (OTE £50-60K Per annum) | Permanent PAYE role, Paid Weekly.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Drainage Engineer to join our expanding team. You will be responsible for attending surveys, reactive call outs, and quoted project works across drainage equipment and systems, predominately within commercial environments (pubs, restaurants, coffee shops, retail stores etc).
Package:
* Role: Drainage Engineer
* Salary: £17 per hour, paid D2D - no deduction for lunch (potentially negotiable dependant on experience).
* Base Hours: £35K per annum, expected annual earnings £50-60K per annum.
* Status: Full time, permanent role, paid weekly.
* Door to door travel time paid.
* Hours: 06:00am - 3:00pm (this could be adjustable dependant on client needs, but will be a 9 hour day, starting circa 6/7/8am with advance notice).
* Patch / Location: Wide patch, predominately London & Home Counties, however at times could be further with paid travel time or offered price works.
* Call out rota: 1 in 4 weeks. £80 per call out + overtime rates after first hour on site.
* Overtime rates: x1.5 Mon-Sat until Midnight. x2 Rate; Mon-Sat 00:00-06:00am or all day Sundays & Bank Holidays.
* Provided: Jetting Van, Fuel Card, Uniform, Phone, Company pension contributions, specialist tools, replacement of hand tools etc.
Duties: As a Drainage Engineer, your day to day duties will be as expected:
* CCTV Drain Surveys – Use of specialist camera equipment to inspect underground pipes, identify blockages, structural issues, or root ingress.
* Drain Mapping & Tracing – Locating and documenting the layout of drainage systems using sonar tracing or CCTV.
* Internal & External Blockage Clearance – Unblocking sinks, toilets, gullies, manholes, or external pipework.
* Flood Response – Emergency pump-outs or containment during drain-related flooding.
* High-Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ) – Clearing debris, grease, scale, or tree roots from drains and pipes using high-pressure water.
* Descaling & Root Cutting – Removing hardened deposits or intrusive roots from pipes.
* Grease Trap Maintenance – Emptying, cleaning, and ensuring compliance with waste disposal standards (esp. in commercial kitchens).
* Interceptor Cleaning – Cleaning fuel, oil, or silt interceptors (e.g., in car parks or industrial sites).
* Drain Lining / Re-Lining – Installing resin linings inside existing pipes to repair cracks without excavation (CIPP: Cured-In-Place Pipe).
* Patch Repairs – Localised re-lining or structural fixes within short pipe sections.
* Grease Traps
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Drainage Engineer
* Comfortable leading / working independently on jobs.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
* Experience within the duties listed above.
* Experience working within commercial environments is highly beneficial.
* Happy to travel across a vast patch with travel time paid.
* Full UK Driving license with under 9 points.
