Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Drainage Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining drainage systems to ensure effective water management. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, practical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Duties
* Design and develop drainage systems that comply with local regulations and environmental standards.
* Conduct site assessments to evaluate drainage needs and identify potential issues.
* Assemble, plumb, and weld components of drainage systems using hand tools and power tools.
* Perform heavy lifting as required during the installation and maintenance of drainage systems.
* Collaborate with contractors, clients, and other engineers to ensure project specifications are met.
* Utilise basic maths skills for calculations related to system design and material requirements.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
* Provide technical support during the construction phase of projects.
Requirements
* Proven mechanical knowledge related to drainage systems and construction practices.
* Experience with commercial driving is preferred for transporting equipment to job sites.
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as necessary for installation tasks.
* Strong basic maths skills for measurements and calculations.
* Previous experience as a carpenter or in a related field is advantageous.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
