Job Description

DRAINAGE OPERATIONS MANAGER You know drainage. You know how to run teams. Now you need a role where both actually matter. We're looking for an experienced Drainage Operations Manager to take ownership of day-to-day operations for an established specialist drainage business with an enviable reputation built over more than 40 years. This isn't a desk-bound operations role where you're simply moving jobs around a spreadsheet. You'll be running the operation - coordinating teams, managing resources, keeping jobs moving, dealing with clients and insurers, solving problems and making sure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. And you'll be doing it across a genuinely specialist operation covering CCTV drainage surveys, UV drain relining, Jet Vac tanker operations and liquid waste services. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Real operational ownership - you'll have a genuine influence over how the operation performs. Join an established, reputable business with more than four decades of industry experience. Work alongside experienced drainage professionals with specialist equipment and capabilities. The opportunity to improve processes, develop people and make the operation more efficient. Build strong relationships with clients, insurers, field teams and external partners.WHAT WILL YOU ACTUALLY BE DOING? You'll be the person making sure the operation works. That means: Planning and coordinating drainage teams and workloads. Scheduling jobs and ensuring the right people, vehicles and equipment are where they need to be. Keeping on top of job progress and dealing with issues before they become bigger problems. Overseeing CCTV surveys, UV relining, Jet Vac and liquid waste operations. Managing field-team performance and supporting training and development. Ensuring works are carried out in line with H&S, environmental and regulatory requirements. Liaising directly with clients, insurers and other stakeholders. Reviewing operational performance and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. Maintaining accurate job records, reporting and operational data. Being the person people turn to when something needs sorting.WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We're not necessarily looking for someone with a perfect CV. We're looking for someone who understands drainage operations and knows how to make things happen. You'll ideally have: Solid experience within drainage, environmental services or a closely related sector. Experience managing or coordinating field-based teams. Knowledge of CCTV drainage surveys, UV relining, Jet Vac/tanker operations and liquid waste. The confidence to deal with clients, insurers, employees and external partners. Experience managing people and getting the best from a team. Relevant drainage, environmental or H&S qualifications would be advantageous.THE BOTTOM LINE If you're currently running drainage operations, supervising drainage teams or coordinating complex field-based drainage work and you're ready to take the next step into a role with genuine responsibility, this could be a very good move. You won't just be managing jobs. You'll be helping shape how the operation runs. If you've got the drainage knowledge, the organisational ability and the leadership to make it happen, we want to hear from you. Apply now for a confidential conversation
