Applebough Education is seeking enthusiastic and dynamic Drama Cover Teachers to work across Secondary Schools in the local area. This role is ideal for individuals who can bring energy, imagination, and strong classroom presence into Drama lessons.

The Role

As a Drama Cover Teacher, you will:

  * 

    Deliver engaging and practical Drama lessons to KS3 and KS4 students

  * 

    Follow pre-set lesson plans or confidently lead your own structured drama activities

  * 

    Inspire students through performance, improvisation, and creative storytelling

  * 

    Encourage confidence, teamwork, and self-expression

  * 

    Manage the classroom effectively to create a safe, supportive learning environment

  * 

    Adapt activities to suit mixed abilities and promote full participation

We’re Looking For

  * 

    Individuals with a background in Drama, Theatre Studies, or Performing Arts

  * 

    QTS qualified teachers OR experienced drama instructors/coaches

  * 

    Confident communicators with strong behaviour management

  * 

    Creative practitioners who can motivate and engage secondary-aged learners

  * 

    Adaptable, reliable, and professional in a variety of school settings

  * 

    Passionate about drama education and nurturing students’ creative skills

Desirable Qualifications/Experience

  * 

    Degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or similar

  * 

    Experience teaching or leading workshops for secondary-aged students

  * 

    Experience directing scripts, improvisation sessions, or performance work

  * 

    Safeguarding or First Aid training (can be provided)
