Academics Ltd, Canterbury have been contacted by an Ofsted rated "Good" secondary school in Dover who require a Teacher of Drama to join them on a permanent basis.
The school are looking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated Teacher of Drama who is able to teach across the KS3 & 4 age range. Applications are welcome from experienced or newly qualified teachers. This post will involve teaching Drama across the school and includes a tutor's responsibility.
The key purpose will be to plan, develop and deliver high-quality lessons and courses within the broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated subject area curriculum using a variety of approaches, to continually enhance teaching and learning.
Responsibilities:
Develop lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and cater to the diverse needs of students.
Facilitate workshops, rehearsals and performances to enhance students' acting abilities and stage presence.
Encourage students to explore various theatrical techniques, including improvisation, voice projection and characterisation.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and expressing themselves creatively.
Collaborate with other drama teachers and staff to organise school productions, talent shows and cultural events.
Requirements:
Prior experience as a drama teacher or working in a related field.
A degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a relevant discipline.
Excellent knowledge of drama techniques, theatre history and modern theatrical practices.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students and build positive relationships.
Passion for teaching and inspiring young minds through the performing arts.
