Job Description

Alliance Personnel are currently recruiting for drivers mates / porters to join one of their logistics clients based in Birmingham.

The client is a leading specialist transportation company, moving all manner of items of IT, including Data Cabinets, UPS Systems right through to Large Format Printers. They deliver throughout the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe. An amount of travel including overnight stays will be required. The successful candidate will work within a strong team delivering to Data Centres and Business premises only.

We are looking to recruit an energetic person to work in this exciting sector. The applicant needs to be strong and have a high level of physical fitness. It is also important to take care of personal appearance, as you will be the outward facing image of the company.

You must be flexible, obliging and understand the importance of customer facing roles. The client's reputation for customer service is vital to maintain and new joiners will be expected to continue this tradition.

Teamwork and motivation – self-motivated, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude, whatever it takes we won’t stop until the job is completed.

Experience in moving computer equipment or even furniture removals would add to the skill set of which they wish to recruit. Those applicants displaying the right attitude and interest, may progress to their Class 2 LGV training at a future date.

A uniform is provided along with full PPE.

Responsibilities:

  * Assist the delivery driver in loading and unloading items from the delivery vehicle

  * Safely and efficiently transport items to customer locations

  * Communicate with customers in a professional and courteous manner

  * Follow delivery instructions and ensure timely and accurate deliveries

  * Help with navigation and route planning

Qualifications:

  * Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks throughout the workday

  * Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members

  * Experience as a driver's mate or in a similar role is preferred

  * Familiarity with warehouse operations and commercial driving is a plus

SALARY

£13.00 per hour

This is based on 50 hours a week – but hours are flexible, start and finish times vary – some weeks you will do considerably less than 50 hours but you will still be paid for 50

Night out Allowance £30.00 per night – reduces to £15.00 if a hotel is provided.
