Our Outstanding school in the thriving London Borough of Barking is seeking a highly motivated Full-Time Teacher of Design & Technology to join our dynamic and successful department from September 2025. In this crucial full-time role, with a strong focus on Key Stage 5, you will: * Deliver Exceptional Specialist Teaching: Teach challenging and innovative DT topics within your specialism (e.g., advanced product development, material properties, iterative design, sustainability, or complex textile techniques/culinary science), fostering deep conceptual understanding and practical application in our students. * Broaden DT Horizons: Contribute to the teaching of a broad and balanced DT curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4, ensuring all students develop foundational design and making skills. * Cultivate Advanced Skills: Lead sophisticated design projects and practical workshops, building students' confidence and proficiency in advanced manufacturing techniques, CAD/CAM, and rigorous evaluation. * Maximise Student Achievement: Be instrumental in ensuring excellent student outcomes in GCSE and A-Level DT (or relevant vocational qualifications), preparing students for highly competitive university courses and apprenticeships in design, engineering, and related creative industries. * Innovate within a Collaborative Department: Join a supportive and experienced team of DT specialists, sharing expertise and contributing to the continuous improvement of the curriculum and resources, particularly within your area of specialism. * Inspire Future Innovators: Play a key role in guiding students with an aptitude for design and making towards fulfilling careers and further study, fostering their passion for creating solutions to real-world problems. We are looking for a passionate and qualified Design & Technology teacher with QTS and an excellent academic background in a relevant DT specialism (e.g., Product Design, Textiles, Food Technology). Proven experience teaching your specialism to A-Level is essential, along with the ability to confidently teach across other DT disciplines at Key Stages 3 and 4. If you are ready to make a significant contribution to our outstanding DT team in Barking, providing an exemplary education with a strong specialist focus, we invite you to apply for a September 2025 start.
