Job Description

Become a Cornerstone of Practical Innovation: Teacher of Design & Technology at a Thriving Independent College in Cambridge (September 2025 - Including A-Level) More than just a teaching position, this is an opportunity to become an integral part of a warm, welcoming, and highly supportive academic community at our thriving independent college located in the intellectually stimulating city of Cambridge. We're seeking a dedicated and empathetic Teacher of Design & Technology to join us in September 2025, someone who is not only passionate about their subject but also deeply invested in the intellectual development, creative problem-solving, and practical skills of our students across Key Stage 4 and, importantly, Key Stage 5. As a valued member of our team, commencing in September 2025, with a significant contribution to A-Level teaching, you will: * Nurture Creative Confidence: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and empowered to experiment, innovate, and develop their practical and theoretical DT skills across all relevant key stages. * Collaborate with Dedicated Professionals: Work alongside a team of passionate and experienced educators who are committed to a shared vision of academic excellence and student success in Design & Technology. * Contribute to a Positive Ethos: Embrace our college's inclusive and collaborative culture, where every member of staff is valued, and their contributions to the intellectual and pastoral life of the college are recognised within the Cambridge community. * Make a Real Difference: Have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with a diverse range of students, including international learners, and guide them on their journey to becoming confident designers, skilled makers, and innovative problem-solvers, particularly as they progress through their A-Level studies. * Enjoy a Supportive Work Environment: Benefit from a leadership team that prioritises staff well-being, provides excellent professional development opportunities in DT pedagogy, and fosters a strong sense of community within our Cambridge college and the department, with specific support for A-Level teaching and project enrichment activities. We're looking for a qualified Design & Technology teacher who is not only an excellent practitioner but also a caring and supportive individual with a passion for fostering practical creativity and design thinking, with the ability to inspire and challenge A-Level students. If you're seeking an independent college in Cambridge where you can truly make a difference in the lives of young people through Design & Technology, including significant Key Stage 5 involvement, and feel a strong sense of belonging within a thriving department, we'd be thrilled to hear from you for a September 2025 start. Shape the next generation of creative problem-solvers and innovators in Cambridge – a rewarding role with A-Level teaching awaits, starting September 2025
