Are you an organised and proactive DT Technician looking for your next opportunity within Secondary education?

Do you have experience preparing materials and maintaining a safe workshop environment?

Are you looking for flexible part-time or full-time work in Secondary schools across Sheffield?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a number of Secondary schools across Sheffield that are expected to require experienced DT Technicians throughout the 2026/27 academic year. We work closely with a range of welcoming schools that value practical learning and provide supportive environments for both staff and students.

We are looking to recruit DT Technicians for both short-term and long-term opportunities, with part-time and full-time positions available from September 2026. The successful DT Technician will support Design and Technology departments by preparing lesson resources, maintaining workshop equipment, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed, managing stock levels, and assisting teaching staff where required.

The successful DT Technician will have:

Previous experience working as a DT Technician or within a Design and Technology environment
Knowledge of workshop health and safety procedures
Experience preparing materials and maintaining tools and equipment
Excellent organisational and time management skills
A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
