Design & Technology Technician - Secondary School - Southwark
Full-Time | Long-Term | Immediate Start | Competitive Pay (PAYE)
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design & Technology (DT) Technician to join the DT department at a thriving secondary school in Southwark. This is a full-time, long-term role starting immediately, offering the chance to play a key part in a creative and supportive school community.
Key Responsibilities
Support teachers with the preparation and delivery of practical DT lessons
Maintain and organise equipment, tools, and materials, ensuring they are safe and in good working condition
Set up and clear away materials for lessons and keep workshops well-stocked and tidy
Assist students during practical activities, offering technical support and guidance
Monitor stock levels, place orders, and contribute to the smooth running of the department
Promote and uphold health and safety standards at all times
Requirements
Previous technical or school-based experience is desirable, but not essential
A keen interest in Design & Technology with a proactive and hands-on approach
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
