Job Description

Location: Garstang, Preston
 Contract: Full-time, Temporary 
 Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 4:00pm

Veritas Education is working exclusively with a secondary school in Garstang, Preston, to recruit a dedicated Design & Technology Technician to join their team immediately.

About the Role:
 You will play a key role in supporting the DT department across multiple areas, including:

Textiles: Assisting with sewing, cutting materials, and preparing resources.
Cooking: Helping students during practical lessons, tidying up, and operating equipment such as washing machines.
Resistant Materials: Organising tools, cutting wood, and ensuring a safe and efficient workshop environment.Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain equipment and materials for practical lessons.
Support students and staff during lessons, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
Keep work areas clean and organised.
Assist with stock control and ordering supplies when required.Requirements:

Ability to use a sewing machine confidently.
Practical skills in cooking and woodwork.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Previous experience in a similar role or DT environment is desirable but not essential.Start Date: ASAP
 Duration: Until end of January
