Our client, a specialist LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, is looking for a temporary Duty Worker to join their team. The Duty Worker will provide crisis intervention and referral management across all specialisms, with a focus on Domestic Abuse and Trans and Non-Binary (TNBI) queues.
Synopsis of duties:
Triage and manage new referrals coming into the service, ensuring timely allocation to queues/advocates and initial support.
Act as the first point of contact for new referrals, providing short-term crisis intervention and initial needs/risk assessments.
Provide short-term support to clients with safety planning, information, and advocacy on housing, legal remedies, welfare, and health.
Manage a busy triage workload with competing priorities, balancing urgent referrals and crisis work.
Ensure effective signposting and referrals to specialist services, including MARAC and Social Care, where required.Essential Requirements
Experience in triage, crisis intervention, and supporting survivors of domestic abuse and/or other forms of abuse.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and safety planning.
Proven ability to manage high referral volumes and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced duty function.
Commitment to inclusive, by and for services and understanding of LGBT+ survivors' needs and barriers they may face.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team.
