Winlight Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality integrated day care and early education services for children aged from birth to 7 years. As an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements and fostering an inclusive and anti-discriminatory environment.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning and Delivery:
* Contribute to the planning and delivery of a high-quality early years curriculum, ensuring alignment with individual children’s needs and interests.
* Execute daily, weekly, and termly planning to facilitate children’s development.
Child Development:
* Foster children’s development in a secure, safe, and stimulating environment, adhering to good practice curriculum guidance.
* Conduct assessments, observations, and maintain developmental records to monitor each child’s progress.
Key Worker Support:
* Support colleagues in their roles as key workers for specific groups of children.
* Facilitate smooth transitions for children from home to the centre and from the centre to school.
Behavior Management:
* Effectively manage children’s behavior in accordance with procedural guidance.
* Implement planned interventions for children with additional needs.
Physical Care:
* Provide appropriate physical care, including washing, toileting, changing, feeding, dressing, comforting, and administering medication.
* Assist children in acquiring and developing self-help skills, including toileting and personal hygiene.
Child Protection and Safety:
* Adhere to Child Protection procedures and promptly report any matters of concern to the centre managers.
* Assist in organizing outings for educational purposes, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children.
Mobility Assistance and First Aid:
* Lift and assist in toileting, changing, and mobility aid transfer as required.
* Implement individual movement programs under the guidance of professionals.
* Provide first aid, comfort sick or injured children, and liaise with designated first-aiders and medical professionals in emergency situations.
* Accompany children to hospitals or doctors as necessary, with proper training in basic medical procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education or related field.
* Experience in planning and delivering early years curriculum.
* Knowledge of child development principles and anti-discriminatory practices.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to manage children’s behavior effectively.
* First aid certification or willingness to undergo training.
