Early Years Practitioner - Primary School - Corby (Maternity Cover) Location: Corby, Northamptonshire Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-Time | Maternity Cover Salary: Competitive salary (dependent on experience and qualifications) Are you a passionate Early Years Practitioner with a genuine love for helping young children learn, grow, and thrive? We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Corby that is looking to appoint an experienced Early Years Practitioner to join their Early Years team on a full-time maternity cover contract from September 2026. The school's Early Years provision provides a warm, stimulating, and child-centred environment where children are encouraged to explore, investigate, and develop confidence through meaningful play and engaging learning opportunities. The Role: As an Early Years Practitioner, you will support the learning and development of children within the Early Years Foundation Stage, helping to deliver engaging activities that encourage independence, communication, and a lifelong love of learning. Working alongside teachers and colleagues, you'll contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. Key Responsibilities: Support children's learning and development across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Deliver engaging, play-based activities that encourage exploration and curiosity Foster children's communication, social, emotional, and physical development Observe, monitor, and record children's progress in line with EYFS guidance Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues Support children with additional needs where appropriate, working alongside the wider school team Assist with planning, preparing, and organising learning resources and classroom activities Promote positive behaviour and encourage children's confidence and independence Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated and supportive Early Years team Who We're Looking For: A recognised Early Years qualification (Level 2, Level 3, or equivalent) Experience working within a nursery, preschool, Reception class, or other EYFS setting A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework A caring, enthusiastic, and nurturing approach to supporting young children Excellent communication and teamwork skills Someone who enjoys working collaboratively and isn't afraid to get involved in creative, hands-on learning experiences A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one What the School Offers: Full-time maternity cover opportunity starting September 2026 Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications A welcoming and child-centred Early Years setting A friendly, supportive team that values collaboration and shared success Access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities A positive working environment where staff are encouraged to share ideas and develop their skills The opportunity to make a meaningful difference during children's crucial early years of learning If you're an enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner looking for your next opportunity within a supportive primary school in Corby, we'd love to hear from you.
