Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting experienced and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioners to work in a range of nursery settings across the Birmingham district. About the Role
Nurseries across Birmingham are looking to appoint dedicated professionals who can bring positivity, energy, and expertise to their early years teams. You’ll be supporting children aged 0-5, helping to facilitate both play-based and structured learning while meeting their emotional and physical care needs.
Your responsibilities may include:
Delivering age-appropriate learning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Observing and assessing children's development, reporting key progress to senior staff and parents
Assisting with personal care routines, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene
Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children
Working collaboratively with a team of early years professionals to support each child’s development and wellbeing
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold a Level 2 or higher qualification in Early Years Education or as a Teaching Assistant (L2 Early Years Practitioner minimum required)
Have experience as a Room Leader or in a similar leadership role (preferred but not essential)
Demonstrate a genuine passion for child development and early learning
Be comfortable with the personal care aspects of working with young children
Act as a positive role model, promoting social skills, kindness, and independence
Possess excellent teamwork and communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with children, staff, and parents
Be proactive, patient, and emotionally resilient when working with young children

Additional Notes:
While prior experience working in a nursery or early years setting is highly desirable, it is not essential if you have the right qualifications and passion for working with children
All candidates will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and must be eligible to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
