Job Description

Job Title: Early Years SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: North London Start Date: After the upcoming term break Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the Role We are looking for a caring and resilient Early Years SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in North London. This role focuses on working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to thrive in both learning and personal development. Key Responsibilities * Provide one-to-one and small group support for EYFS pupils with SEMH needs. * Assist teachers in delivering tailored interventions and play-based learning. * Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction. * Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe and supported. * Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic support. Requirements * Experience working with young children, ideally in EYFS or SEMH settings. * Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships. * Patience, empathy, and resilience in managing challenging behaviours. * A genuine passion for supporting children’s early development. * Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 TA, EYFS training, SEN/SEMH training) are desirable but not essential.
