Job Description

Role: Early Years Special Needs Assistant Type: Permanent Hours: 32.5 per week Salary: £17,500 - £19,000 The Role: Veritas Education are working with a special needs school in the Leeds area who are looking to recruit multiple permanent "Early Years Special Needs Practitioners" for roles. The role will be supporting a range of learners with varying learning, communication and behaviour needs across their early years classes. The school has fantastic facilities to cater for all children and different needs, from play areas, sensory rooms, interactive play stations and much more!!! The Ideal Applicant: Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification, or a childcare/education-based degree. Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Skills framework and curriculum. Experience supporting learning needs such as Autism, Asperger's, ADHD and others. Comfortable supporting on a 1:1 basis, across the classroom throughout sessions, play groups and other planned activities. Assisting with toilet support and hygiene requirements. Be able to manage challenging and crisis behaviour of learners within the early years age groups. This is an ideal role for anyone who is currently in a nursery looking for more school based hours, or anyone who has just finished their childcare qualification or degree, ready for their new role!
