Job Description
We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join the Reception team at a lovely, welcoming primary school in Plumstead.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with young children and wants to become a valued, long-term member of a supportive school community. You will work closely with the Reception teacher and wider team to create a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating environment where children feel happy, confident, and ready to learn.
The school has a strong focus on providing children with a positive start to their education, supporting their development across all areas of the EYFS while encouraging curiosity, independence, and a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Reception teacher with the delivery of engaging learning activities in line with the EYFS framework
Provide a warm, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported
Support children with their social, emotional, physical, and educational development
Encourage children’s independence, confidence, communication, and curiosity
Assist with observations, assessment, and monitoring children’s progress
Work with individuals and small groups to support learning and development
Promote positive behaviour and help children develop strong relationships with their peers
Support classroom routines, organisation, and preparation of learning resources
Build positive and professional relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues
Follow school policies and maintain high standards of safeguarding and child welfare
Work collaboratively as part of the Reception team and wider school communityAbout You
Experience working with children in an Early Years or Reception setting
A relevant Early Years qualification or experience would be advantageous
Passionate about supporting young children and their development
Warm, patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic
Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Confident supporting children with different needs and abilities
Able to communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Keen to develop professionally and build a long-term career within a school environmentWhat We Offer
