About the role
Are you a nurturing, enthusiastic individual who’s passionate about shaping young minds? Do you have a solid grasp of the EYFS framework and a commitment to helping children grow through structured learning and play?
We are working with a vibrant and supportive primary school in Barnet to find a talented early years teaching assistant who is ready to make a long-term impact. This role begins in September and offers a pathway to a permanent contract after a successful academic year.
Key responsibilities
• Work full-time in a Reception class alongside a passionate teacher and supportive SENCO
• Support the delivery of systematic phonics – ideally Little Wandle
• Help children transition into structured learning while keeping learning joyful and play-based
• Foster emotional regulation, routine, and social development in young learners
• Deliver personalised support to help each child reach their full potential
What we’re looking for
• Recent experience in Early Years (nursery or primary school setting)
• Strong command of spoken and written English
• A solid understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development
• Confidence in supporting early phonics and literacy
• Someone reliable who can commit to the full academic year
• A warm, patient and proactive individual with a child-centred approach
