Early Years Teaching Assistant
About the school
We are seeking a level 3 qualified teaching assistant to support the nursery afterschool provision in a well-regarded primary school in Enfield. This is a caring, vibrant, and supportive setting with excellent resources and a dedicated staff team.
The role
This part-time role runs Monday to Friday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm and is ideal for someone who loves working with younger children and is passionate about providing nurturing, structured, and engaging experiences during the afternoon and afterschool periods.
You’ll begin your day with a dedicated group of 8 nursery-aged children, running a mini-afterschool club from 2:00pm to 3:00pm that fosters creativity, exploration, and calm play. From 3:00pm onwards, you’ll transition with the children to the main afterschool club of around 30 pupils, where you’ll continue to act as the keyworker for your group, ensuring continuity, safety, and personal care throughout.
What we’re looking for
• A level 3 early years qualification (essential)
• Experience working with nursery-aged children in a school or childcare setting
• A warm, organised and enthusiastic approach to supporting early learning
• A passion for developing strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Confidence in managing a small group with a mix of care, play, and structured activities
This is a lovely, supportive school with a great staff team and a friendly atmosphere. You’ll be part of a professional and collaborative environment that values each child’s unique needs and supports staff development.
