About the role: Astute's Power Team is partnered with a global company, who specialise with the Energy from Waste industry, to recruit for an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation (EC&I) Technicians to join their Energy from Waste Power Station in Fife, Scotland. The EfW will process 240,000 tonnes of waste per annum, exporting 21.5MW of electricity to the grid. The vital EC&I Technician role comes with a salary of £45,000 + £2,500 call out allowance + Bonus + Private Medical + Pension + Benefits. Responsibilities and duties: Reporting to the Senior EC&I Technician you will be responsible for: Carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all EC&I assets to maximise plant availability including pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors and control systems (DCS, PLCs) and electrical equipment. Assisting during major maintenance periods, shutdowns, outages etc. when required to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency. Working alongside other technicians in the maintenance team in diagnosing faults and assisting/suggesting equipment upgrades Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS Supervising and directing on site contractors when required Working within the company health, safety and environmental processes and procedures at all times. Please note, it will be encouraged for those who either Electrically or C&I biased to apply as training and development can be provided. Professional qualifications: We are looking for someone with the following: Ideally have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Electrical & Engineering, Measurement and Control, etc. A health and safety qualification such as an IOSH will be highly advantageous Experience and personal skills: The EC&I Technician role would suit someone who has: Hands-on maintenance experience gained in a heavy process environment such as Power Generation (EfW, CHP, Biomass, CCGT, Coal, etc) Experience working with motors, variable speed drives, switchgears, PLC systems, etc. Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) This role will be suitable for Royal/Merchant Navy Marine Engineers who are considering a move into the Power Generation sector Experience working with HV equipment will be highly advantageous Salary and benefits of the EC&ITechnician role: A salary of £45,000 A call out allowance of £2,500 Private healthcare Bonus Other benefits An opportunity to join a new Energy from Waste plant INDPOW (#LI-RW1) Astute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
