Job Description
Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a EC&I Design Engineer interested in opportunities on a contract basis, to be located near Chester.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed EC&I designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
Specify and select electrical equipment, control panels, instruments, and cabling systems.
Prepare control philosophies, loop diagrams, and single-line diagrams.
Ensure designs comply with project specifications, standards, and regulations.
Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and HVAC teams to ensure full system integration.
Support design reviews, hazard assessments, and commissioning preparation.
Provide technical support during installation, testing, and handover stages.
Qualifications & Skills
Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).
Proven experience in EC&I design for industrial, manufacturing, or process environments.
Strong understanding of electrical and control design standards (BS EN, IEC, IET).
Competent with design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
