EC&I Technician
Based at our Fellside Combined Heat & Power Plant (FCHP) in Cumbria — a vital upper-tier COMAH site supporting the Sellafield enclave — you’ll play a key role in keeping our 24/7 operation running safely and efficiently.
Reporting to the Site Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be the go-to expert ensuring all Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects are executed to the highest standard — supporting world-class operations and continuous reliability.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and project work on rotating and stationary equipment.
* Diagnose and resolve EC&I faults — fast — to keep the plant performing at its best.
* Complete reports, risk assessments, and method statements to ensure every job is done safely and effectively.
* Provide expert technical support for daily maintenance and engineering activities.
* Help refine and improve maintenance procedures, work plans, and documentation.
* Specify and order spare parts and equipment — keeping quality and compliance top of mind.
* Supervise contractors and ensure all work meets our strict safety and environmental standards.
* Collaborate closely with the wider Engineering and Operations team to drive continuous improvement.
Who You Are

You’ll need:
* A time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control.
* Solid understanding of instrument and control theory and The Electricity at Work Regulations.
* Experience working with permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and method statements.
* Strong EC&I troubleshooting skills — plus the ability to read single-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
