EC&I Technician
Burghfield, Reading, Berkshire
52-week contract
£38.90/hr Umbrella (Inside IR35, includes £5/hr shift uplift)
Travel Allowance: £100 per diem (for candidates travelling 30+ miles to site)
12 hour day, 11 shifts on, 3 shifts off
Must be eligible for SC or DV clearance, can start on BPSS with SC is in progress
Must have CSCS/ECS card prior to starting
Role Overview
An exciting opportunity for an experienced EC&I Technician to support installation activities on a secure site. You will carry out electrical and instrumentation works in line with industry best practices, safety standards, and site protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical installation, testing and inspection to trade and legal standards
Conduit, trunking, tray and cable systems installation
Glanding, terminating, and cable identification
Earthing, bonding, and panel installation
Installing 3-phase motors, isolators, E-stops
Assisting with commissioning and setting to work
Following RAMS and work pack documentation
Reporting issues, defects, or hazards to supervisors
Supporting with safety and quality assurance compliance
Required Qualifications
Level 3 qualification in a relevant electrical or instrumentation trade
ECS card (mandatory)
17th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2008)
BS 2391-52 Inspection & Testing
CSCS/ECS card must be held prior to starting
Desirable Experience
Installation experience in nuclear or power generation sectors
Fibre or Profibus installation experience
Familiarity with commissioning processes
