An established ecological consultancy based in Essex is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Ecologist to join its growing team near London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a passion for fieldwork, biodiversity, and delivering high-quality ecological services.

The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting field surveys, preparing technical reports, supporting protected species licensing, and liaising with clients and stakeholders. The position involves a mix of office-based reporting and site-based fieldwork across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertaking a range of ecological surveys (e.g. Phase 1/UKHab, bat, GCN, reptile)
Supporting the delivery of Ecological Impact Assessments and Habitat Regulations Assessments
Assisting with the preparation of EPS licence applications
Producing clear, concise ecological reports
Liaising with clients, contractors, and regulators
Mentoring junior staff and contributing to team development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A relevant degree in ecology or a related discipline
Experience within an ecological consultancy
Strong field skills and knowledge of UK wildlife legislation
Experience in protected species surveys and mitigation
Membership of CIEEM (or working towards it)
A full UK driving licence
