Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join our vibrant and supportive school community in Bolton. This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their teaching career in a nurturing environment that values professional development, collaboration, and pupil wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and pupil progress
Use formative and summative assessment to monitor and support pupil achievement
Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policy
Support pupils with SEND, EAL, and other additional needs
Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents/carers
Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and school-wide initiatives
Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to the pastoral care of pupils
Reflect on practice and engage with the ECT induction programme
Qualifications & Experience
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential for teaching in UK state schools
Completion of Initial Teacher Training (PGCE, SCITT, School Direct, or equivalent)
Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and current educational practices
Experience teaching during placements, with evidence of pupil progress
Commitment to inclusive education and supporting diverse learning needs
Desirable Skills & Attributes
Enthusiastic, reflective, and eager to grow professionally
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and pastoral responsibilities
Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities and school life
