Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Edge Band Operator to join our client in Durham.
This role involves applying solid timber lipping to door cores using an automated edge banding machine. You’ll be responsible for ensuring high-quality finishes, maintaining machinery, and handling heavy materials safely.
Competitive salary offered, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate edge banding machine to apply timber lipping
* Carry out quality checks on lipped doors for accuracy, adhesion, and finish
* Prepare and load timber lips into the machine, ensuring correct specification
* Maintain and clean machinery, including glue pot and parts
* Follow production paperwork and scan completed jobs
* Safely load and unload heavy doors
Requirements:
* Ability to read technical drawings and production paperwork
* Basic PC skills (printing and processing paperwork)
* Confidently able to handle heavy materials
* Team player with a self-motivated attitude
* Background in timber machining/edge banding preferred
Working Hours: Monday – Thursday, 6:00am – 4:30pm (3-day weekends every week!)
