The Roles: Education Support Staff / Learning Mentors / AP Educators
We are recruiting for various roles designed to provide intensive, individualised support to our students. Whether you're looking to start your career in alternative education or bring a wealth of experience, you'll play a crucial role in creating a positive and impactful learning journey.
Key Responsibilities (may vary based on role and experience):
Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to students, adapting to diverse learning styles and needs.
Delivering engaging and differentiated educational activities across various subjects/vocational areas.
Acting as a positive role model and mentor, fostering strong, trusting relationships with students.
Supporting students with their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
Who We're Looking For:
Unqualified / Entry-Level Education Support Staff:
A genuine passion for working with vulnerable young people and a strong desire to make a positive impact.
Excellent empathy, patience, and resilience when facing challenging situations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport quickly.
A proactive, adaptable, and flexible approach to learning and problem-solving.
Basic IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
A demonstrable commitment to personal growth, teamwork, and initiative, such as those developed through participation in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. If you've completed any level of DofE, we want to hear how it's equipped you with perseverance, leadership, and a positive attitude that will benefit our students!
Qualified Alternative Provision Educators / Teachers / Experienced Learning Mentors:
Relevant experience working in an alternative provision, SEND setting, or with young people facing complex needs (e.g., SEMH, trauma-informed practice).
A teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or relevant professional qualification (e.g., Youth Work, Social Work, Counselling) is highly desirable for educator roles.
Proven ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning experiences.
Strong behaviour management skills with a focus on de-escalation and positive reinforcement.
Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection in an educational context.
Individuals who have achieved the Duke of Edinburgh's Award at any level are particularly encouraged to apply.
