Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Educational Psychologists to join our specialised SEND and Social Care consultancy business, Connect Exec to deliver EHCNA's into a range of clients across the Uk. The main focus of this role will be to complete Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs) to support local authorities in cleating back logs of assessments or assisting them with the ongoing demand of referrals coming through. This role is vital in supporting children and young people with special educational needs by providing thorough psychological advice to inform statutory decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
* Complete psychological advice for EHCNAs under the Children and Families Act (2014), in line with SEND Code of Practice.
* Conduct thorough assessments through consultation, observation, and analysis of cognitive and emotional development.
* Liaise with schools, families, and other professionals to gather relevant information and co-construct understanding.
* Write high-quality statutory reports that clearly outline the child’s needs, strengths, and evidence-based recommendations.
* Attend multi-agency planning meetings where necessary to contribute psychological insights.
* Ensure all work meets statutory deadlines and quality standards set by the local authority.
* Maintain accurate records and adhere to relevant safeguarding procedures.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* HCPC registered Educational Psychologist.
* Honours degree in Psychology (BPS recognised) and Doctorate or equivalent in Educational Psychology.
* DBS check
* At least 3 years post qualified experienced, ideally with some time working in a project/consultancy position.
* Demonstrable experience of completing EHCNA reports in a Local Authority context.
* Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory requirements.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
* Experience working with a diverse range of educational settings and age groups.
* Familiarity with digital tools for report writing and remote assessments.
* A flexible and collaborative approach to working with families and professionals.
