EHCP Assessment Officer
Location: Oxford, OX1 (Hybrid Working)
Contract: 3+ Months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £250–£280 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Reporting to: Senior SEN Officer
We are currently recruiting for an experienced EHCP Assessment Officer to join a local authority team in Oxford on a 3+ month contract.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment process, from the initial request through to the issuing of the final EHC Plan. You will act as the first point of contact for children, young people, and their families, working closely with them throughout the assessment journey.
This is a hybrid working role, offering flexibility alongside a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the full EHC assessment process in line with statutory requirements.
* Act as the main contact for families, ensuring they are fully supported and informed.
* Liaise with internal teams and external professionals to gather and assess relevant information.
* Ensure that children, young people, and their families are at the centre of all decisions.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to service improvements.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working within SEN/EHCP processes in a local authority or educational setting.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A commitment to inclusive, child-centred practice.
