Assistant Technical Manager
Salary: £40,000–£42,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm
Reports to: Technical Manager
We’re looking for an Assistant Technical Manager to join our Facilities Management team. This role is key in keeping building systems running safely and efficiently while supporting a 24-hour maintenance operation.
You’ll work alongside the Technical Manager and wider estates team, taking responsibility for day-to-day engineering activity and helping to make sure everything on site meets compliance and safety standards.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting the estates team in delivering a 24/7 maintenance service
*
Acting as an Authorised Person for HV and LV systems (after training and appointment)
*
Managing planned and reactive maintenance tasks
*
Working with contractors and ensuring compliance with procedures
*
Keeping accurate maintenance records using the CAFM system
*
Helping to resolve technical issues and improve site performance
*
Joining an on-call rota as required
What we’re looking for:
*
ONC/HND in an engineering discipline (or equivalent)
*
Solid background in electrical systems and Hard FM management
*
Knowledge of 18th Edition BS7671 regulations
*
Experience managing contractors
*
Good communication skills and a practical approach to problem-solving
Desirable:
*
Experience as an Authorised Person (LV/HV 11kV)
*
Understanding of HTM, HBN, and healthcare engineering standards
*
City & Guilds 2391 Inspect & Test qualification
