Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Controls Engineer role
Reporting to the Electrical Contract Manager you will:
Production of FDS / SDS.
Design and programming of PLC / HMI / SCADA systems for various industries using SIEMENS, Mitsubishi etc. equipment. (SIEMENS essential)
AutoCAD design of electrical distribution / motor control centres and PLC control systems.
Attend client and sub-contractor meetings to support the project by providing technical expertise.
Production of test documents FAT/SAT, and visits to panel manufacturer premises for Factory Acceptance Testing.
Prepare estimates, tenders, design specifications, and tender specifications.
Author O&M Manuals.
Keep abreast of the latest developments in electrical engineering.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Minimum of 6 years' experience as a Controls Engineer.
Engineering qualification to at least level 4 (HND/Degree or equivalent).
Relevant design (AutoCAD) experience in a relevant electrical design / controls engineering role
Experience in control panel / MCC design, ideally with SIEMENS equipment. Project management experience will be an advantage.
Knowledge of industrial control systems including electrical distribution equipment, MCCs, and PLC control panels.
Working knowledge of BS EN 60204 and BS7671
Ability to produce and manage RAMS.
Personal skills

Experience in a turnkey project environment
Highly organised with attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work proactively both individually and as part of a team.
