About the Opportunity: NRL is delighted to be recruiting Electrical Design Engineers on behalf of a respected client delivering cutting-edge infrastructure solutions across multiple UK sites. This is a crucial opportunity to join a high-performing engineering team contributing to the design and delivery of critical low-voltage power systems. With flexibility on location — preferably Stockton-on-Tees (North East) or Cumbria (North West). — you’ll help ensure high-quality electrical design standards are met across large, multi-disciplinary programmes.   What You’ll Be Doing: As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will support the development and assurance of low-voltage electrical distribution systems, working under the guidance of the Lead EC&I Engineer. You will be responsible for producing robust designs, supervising the work of others, and delivering timely design packages to support procurement and construction activities. Your responsibilities will include: Developing and reviewing Low Voltage AC (LVAC) electrical designs and associated technical documentation. Providing technical supervision and ensuring quality control of design output across the team. Producing and checking drawings, calculations, specifications, risk assessments, and reports in line with project and safety requirements. Supporting continuous improvement of system performance, compliance, and safety. Offering technical input to stakeholders and ensuring adherence to internal and external standards. Applying sound engineering judgement to resolve complex design problems and enhance delivery efficiency. Ensuring timely delivery of design documentation aligned with procurement and construction schedules.  What You’ll Need: Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards), or equivalent experience is advantageous. Strong knowledge of low-voltage electrical distribution systems. Proven ability to produce technical documentation such as Electrical Services Specifications, Designers Risk Assessments, and Earthing/Bonding Plans. Proficiency in relevant electrical design tools such as ProDesign, Amtech, Havecomp, Dialux, or Relux. Working knowledge of BS7671 (latest edition) and associated guidance documents. Understanding of engineering interfaces in complex, multi-disciplinary environments. Basic CAD knowledge and awareness of value engineering and risk management principles.
