Job Description:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will:
* Play a key role in the design and development of LV electrical systems for industrial and infrastructure projects, including Electric Vehicle Charging applications and street lighting systems.
* You’ll be responsible for producing detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications using EPLAN Electric P8 and Pro Panel.
* As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll lead and mentor junior engineers and apprentices, offering guidance and approval on designs while ensuring projects meet all relevant standards such as BS EN 61439.
* Your day-to-day work will involve designing, developing, and implementing AC electrical systems and components, collaborating with project managers and mechanical teams to deliver integrated solutions.
* You’ll also carry out feasibility studies, risk assessments, and offer technical support to the shopfloor to resolve any design-related issues.
* This Electrical Design Engineer role also includes liaising with suppliers, reviewing vendor proposals, and supporting the procurement process by ensuring technical compliance.
* You’ll keep up to date with industry standards, applying new technologies and best practices to continuously improve system design and efficiency.
Skills & Experience:
To thrive as an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll bring:
* HND/HNC or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in electrical design within a manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency with EPLAN design software (desirable).
* Experience designing and manufacturing electrical control panels or busbar systems.
* Strong understanding of LV power distribution systems and relevant standards (IEEE, IEC, BS EN 61349).
* Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and support technical development.
