Job Description

If you’re an Electrical Design Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and working on advanced technology, this is a role where you’ll be hands-on with genuinely interesting systems and projects.

 As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the design and integration of complex electrical systems across a range of advanced engineering products. This is a technically varied role combining detailed design work with system-level thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
 You’ll contribute to electrical solutions from concept through to integration, ensuring designs are compliant, reliable, and fit for purpose.

 Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems for complex engineering products
Define system architectures, power distribution, and control strategies
Produce and review schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
Ensure compliance with CE/UKCA, EMC, and electrical safety standards
Support integration, testing, and commissioning activities
Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams
Participate in design reviews and ensure technical accuracy
Support junior engineers where required
Work with suppliers and customers to resolve technical challengesWhat They’re Looking For
Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or similar
Strong background in electrical design, power distribution, and system integration
Experience using electrical CAD tools
Knowledge of CE/UKCA directives, EMC, and compliance standards
Ability to design for manufacturability, testability, and reliability
Experience with PLCs, motor control, automation, or maritime systems (desirable)
Strong communication skills
