Electrical Design EngineerAre you an Electrical Design Engineer looking to work on innovative electromechanical products that are used around the world?
We're partnering with a long-established UK engineering manufacturer with an outstanding reputation for designing and producing high-quality engineered products. As the business continues to invest in new product development, they're looking to strengthen their Design team with an experienced Electrical Design Engineer.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to commissioning and ongoing product support, contributing to technically challenging projects within a collaborative engineering environment.
The RoleAs an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design, development and support of advanced electrical systems for innovative engineered products. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop reliable, high-performance solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and developing AC and DC electrical circuits for new and existing products.
Producing detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts and technical documentation using EPLAN and AutoCAD.
Ensuring all electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Supporting the commissioning, testing and maintenance of electrical systems, motors and motor control equipment.
Carrying out fault-finding activities and implementing practical engineering solutions.
Providing technical support during product development, production and customer installations.
Preparing technical documentation, user manuals and maintenance information.
Working closely with Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, Project Management and customers to deliver projects on time and to specification.
Occasionally travelling to customer sites to support commissioning, fault diagnosis and technical investigations.About YouWe're looking for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and seeing projects through from concept to completion.
You'll ideally have:
A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
A minimum of three years' experience in an Electrical Design Engineer role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong experience designing AC and DC electrical circuits.
The ability to produce and interpret detailed electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Experience using EPLAN and AutoCAD.
Excellent fault-finding skills and a logical, methodical approach to problem solving.
Experience with electric motors, switching circuits and motor controllers.
The ability to manage your own workload and communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
A willingness to travel occasionally for commissioning and technical support activities.Desirable ExperienceExperience in any of the following areas would be advantageous:
Control systems and PLC programming, particularly Siemens PLCs.
CodeSys 3.5.
CAN bus communication systems, including CANopen or NMEA2000.
Hydraulic systems.
Functional Safety and design risk assessments, including SIL principles.
Developing products for harsh operating environments.
Knowledge of product certification and industry compliance standards.
Experience working within marine, automotive, defence, industrial automation or other regulated engineering sectors.What's on Offer?
