Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Design Engineer role
Reporting to the Electrical Contract Manager you will:
Use AutoCAD software to produce complete electrical designs, including full Schematics / GA's / SLD's / Cable Schedules.
Produce engineered solutions working from specifications produced by, and overseen by the Electrical Contract Manager.
Provide design progress and forecast to the Electrical Contract Manager.
Attend client and sub-contractor meetings to support the project by providing technical expertise.
Produce documentation related to Factory Acceptance Testing, and attending test sessions at panel manufacturer sites.
Keep abreast of the latest developments in electrical engineering.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Engineering qualification to at least level 4 (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
Minimum 5 years in a Design Engineer role with design experience of MCC's / control systems / schematics and design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and cable design software.
Working knowledge of BS EN 60204 and BS7671 to produce compliant designs.
Experience in control panel/MCC design, ideally with Siemens equipment.
Knowledge of industrial control systems including electrical distribution equipment, motor control centres and PLC control panels. Preferably with SIEMENS equipment.
Proficiency in producing single line diagrams, schematics, materials lists (BOM), cable calculations and cable schedules.
Personal skills

Able to work proactively both individually and as part of a team.
