Job Description
Due to succession planning within the business, our client are looking for an Electrical Engineer with solid design experience. You will be working alongside the incumbent Design Manager who has been with the business for 40 years. This is a permanent role paying up to 45k per annum.
This is a very varied role involving design (approx. 40% of role), Testing, R&D, Quality, Shopfloor work & in the Laboratory, which is being built this year.
A great opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing organisation & eventually make the role your own, with the opportunity for future progression due to the incumbent Design Manager retiring in the coming years..
Our client are not looking for someone who can do everything below, but a solid electrical engineer who can be learn within the business.
Skills Required:
* Computer literacy particular in Microsoft Office and any other CAD software.
* Some electrical theory required - knowledge of current, resistance, voltage beneficial.
* Maths knowledge + simple geometry knowledge.
* Able to read and interpret wiring specifications.
* Ability to liaise with and discuss electrical requirements with technical engineers.
* Ability to create wire designs from detailed performance paragraphs and test requirements.
* Basic understanding of conductors and insulation materials.
* Ideally have some electrical testing knowledge.
* Ideally have knowledge of Quality Systems, ISO9100, ISO9001 etc.
Other:
* Excellent admin and organisational skills.
* Ability to multitask, think pro-actively & creatively.
* Ability to project manage and write technical reports.
* Collaborative work is essential at all levels within the organization.
Daily Responsibilities:
* Creating and maintaining product designs.
* Understanding and interpreting customer requirements.
* Creating and adjusting Bills of Materials/Routings around the shop floor.
* Be responsible for the creation of data sheets product specifications and First Article Inspection.
* Able to solve production problems and liaise and communicate with production / machine operatives.
