Senior Electrical Design Engineer
📍 South Kirkby | 💼 Permanent | 💰 £50,000 – £60,000 per annum (DOE)
We’re currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking and growing engineering team based in South Kirkby. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced electrical design professional to lead complex design projects from concept to completion in a supportive and collaborative environment.
🔧 Role Overview:
As the Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for overseeing the full electrical design process, producing detailed technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. You’ll work across a wide range of bespoke projects and collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and project engineering teams.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
*
Lead electrical design from concept through to delivery
*
Create and review electrical schematics, SLDs, BCDs, cable schedules, P&IDs, I/O schedules, layouts, and calculations
*
Ensure all designs meet BS7671, IEC and other regulatory standards
*
Provide mentoring and technical leadership to junior engineers
*
Liaise directly with clients and project stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
*
Work closely with internal cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle
🎓 Requirements:
*
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
*
Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical design (building services or manufacturing preferred)
*
Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN or similar CAD tools
*
Experience designing LV power and distribution systems
*
Excellent understanding of electrical systems, control panels, and distribution
*
Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
*
Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) is a plus
