Job Description
Fortress Recruit is supporting a leading engineering organisation in their search for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their specialist team based in Poole, Dorset.
This role offers the opportunity to take technical ownership of electrical design projects across the full product lifecycle, from initial concept and detailed design, through to verification, manufacturing support, and beyond. You’ll be involved in developing innovative and robust electrical solutions for use in demanding environments, ensuring quality, performance, and compliance with industry standards.
Key responsibilities will include:

Leading electrical design activities in line with customer requirements, regulations, and internal procedures
*
Creating detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using industry-standard CAD tools
*
Producing and maintaining technical documentation including specifications, BOMs, and test plans
*
Supporting product verification, validation, and design reviews across the lifecycle
*
Providing technical guidance to other engineers and contributing to process and design improvements
*
Ensuring projects are delivered to quality, cost, and schedule targets
To be successful in this role, you will have:

A recognised qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (Degree, HND, or equivalent)
*
Proven experience in electrical design within a relevant industry
*
Working knowledge of electrical/electronic CAD software, MRP systems, and MS Office
*
Understanding of full product development lifecycle, from concept to production
*
Eligibility to gain security clearance (5 years residency in the UK without sponsorship requirement)
This is a permanent, full-time role based in Poole, Dorset offering a salary range of £48-54K DoE. You’ll join a collaborative team working on technically interesting, high-performance products, with opportunities to develop and expand your expertise.
