Electrical Design Engineer – Graduate / Early Career
Location: Warwick
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 per annum plus excellent benefits
We’re seeking a Graduate / Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking engineering business at the forefront of industrial drive and control technology.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical or Control Engineering who is eager to apply their knowledge in real-world design projects. You’ll be working on bespoke control systems, producing detailed electrical designs, and supporting both internal teams and external clients with technical expertise.
You’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of projects, from initial customer requirements through to design, production support, and commissioning. Key Responsibilities
Design and produce detailed schematics and connection drawings for bespoke electrical control systems.
Liaise with clients to translate requirements into functional design specifications.
Create and support PLC programs where required.
Assist production by providing clear drawings, technical advice, and test procedures.
Ensure designs comply with relevant UK legislation and EU directives.
Conduct cost analysis of components and support sourcing of alternatives.
Provide responsive technical support internally and externally, including occasional site and commissioning visits.
Contribute to ongoing technical projects, training, and service improvements.
About You
Degree or equivalent qualification with significant electrical content.
Knowledge of single and three-phase motors and controls.
Experience using AutoCAD or similar software.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with clients and colleagues.
Knowledge of PLC programming, frequency inverters, and BS7671 electrical installation standards. (Desirable)
Understanding of EU Machinery Directive. (Desirable)
Practical experience with electrical control panel build, diagnostics, or fault finding. (Desirable)
