Electrical Design Manager – Data Centre
Location: North Dublin
The Company & roles
A reputable and growing main contractor that is a global leader in delivering innovative engineering and construction solutions across a diverse range of technical industries is currently looking to add an experienced and committed Electrical Design Manager for a data centre project at its head office based in the North of Dublin.
This is a key role within a high-performing delivery team, and we're seeking someone who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to manage design, coordination, and project delivery.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong engineering background, coupled with experience working for main contractors or general contractors, preferably on complex, large-scale builds such as data centres, life sciences, or technology facilities.
Electrical Design Manager Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage the electrical design process from pre-construction through delivery
Collaborate with design consultants, subcontractors, and in-house engineering teams
Ensure timely production and coordination of technical submittals and shop drawings
Lead design meetings, ensuring technical compliance and alignment with project goals
Manage design deliverables in line with programme milestones
Identify design risks and propose solutions to mitigate cost or schedule impact
Support project managers and site teams with design input and technical resolution
Ensure designs comply with Irish electrical regulations, health & safety standards, and client specificationsElectrical Design Manager Requirements:
Third level qualification Electrical Engineering/ Electrical Design Engineering
3+ years’ experience working on large industrial plant projects
Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment
Proficiency in a related Electrical Design package/ software
