Electrical Engineer (Facilities Engineer)
Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: £31,000 - £39,000 (depending on experience and level of qualification)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
We’re proud to be representing our client, a world leader in injection moulding and plastic moulded components, is seeking a proactive and experienced Facilities Engineer with a strong background in electrical maintenance.
This is a key role within the on-site engineering team, supporting the reliability and efficiency of all electrical systems across the facility. The successful candidate will ensure all electrical work is compliant, safe, and aligned with business needs, while also contributing to improvement projects and general facilities support.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and resolve electrical faults across both facility infrastructure and manufacturing equipment
Carry out routine and planned electrical maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimise uptime
Install, modify, and commission electrical systems and components in line with current standards and internal requirements
Conduct regular testing, inspections, and maintenance of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with H&S and legal regulations
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and electrical testing in line with audit requirements
Support internal engineering and improvement projects, particularly those involving electrical system upgrades or energy efficiency
Liaise with and supervise third-party contractors carrying out electrical or facilities-related work
Ensure critical spares and components are held in stock to enable timely maintenance and repairs
Provide fault-finding support and technical expertise to production and engineering teams as required
Engage in relevant training, including updates to wiring regulations (e.g., 18th Edition), and remain current with best practices
Ideal Candidate Profile
Recognised electrical qualification such as City & Guilds or BTEC in Electrical Engineering
Proven experience in an electrical maintenance or facilities engineering role within a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial environment
Strong understanding of electrical systems, fault diagnosis, and planned maintenance routines
Good communicator with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Computer literate, particularly with MS Office applications
Desirable qualifications:
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
IPAF licence
ECS Card (Installation Electrician or equivalent)
