Day-to-Day

Your typical day as an Electrical Engineer (Intermediate-Level) will involve:

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop coordinated designs.
Producing detailed electrical designs and calculations for building services systems.
Attending project meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss progress and technical solutions.
Conducting site visits to review installations and ensure compliance with design specifications.
Supporting junior team members with technical guidance and mentoring.
Researching and implementing sustainable engineering practices in your designs.
Managing project deadlines and ensuring deliverables are met to a high standard.

Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer (Intermediate-Level), you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions across all project stages, from RIBA Stage 0 to Stage 7. Your responsibilities will include:

Designing electrical building services systems for a variety of sectors.
Producing detailed technical designs and documentation to a high standard.
Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver coordinated designs.
Attending client and design team meetings to provide technical input and updates.
Conducting site visits to monitor installation progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
Supporting and mentoring graduate engineers in their technical development.
Developing practical, sustainable, and energy-efficient engineering solutions.
Managing your workload effectively across multiple projects.
Working under the guidance of Senior and Principal Engineers while developing greater autonomy.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

A relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience in electrical building services design within a UK-based MEP consultancy.
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and building services systems.
Proficiency in design software such as Revit, ProDesign, and Bluebeam (desirable).
A keen interest in sustainable engineering and low-energy building design.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
