Isca Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Engineer seeking a varied role, to join a successful growing SME business with a strong engineering ethos.
Reporting to the Commercial Director and working as part of a small friendly team this is a hands-on Engineer position, where no two days will be the same – you’ll be collaborating on R&D innovations, build and installation, maintenance and servicing, repairs and improvements.
Duties will include:
* Deliver scheduled maintenance, fault diagnosis (remote & on-site), and system upgrades.
* Use diagnostics to implement preventative measures and reduce downtime.
* Support design and development of mechanical/electrical systems for new CIP units.
* Maintain and repair components: pumps, valves, sensors, PLCs, control hardware/software.
* Participate in fabrication, assembly, and testing of new units.
* Install and commission systems at client sites, ensuring optimal configuration.
* Train users and drivers on system operation and safety.
* Ensure full traceability and audit capability across all servicing and updates.
* Collaborate with office teams to resolve technical queries and support clients.
* Provide out-of-hours support via remote access.
* Working on projects that directly impact food safety and sustainability.
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000pa + benefits.
Location: On site near Cullompton, plus travel to client sites
Hours: Mon – Fri, 8:30am – 5pm and on call out of hours rota
Start Date: ASAP
Please note due to location you will need your own transport.
Mechanical and Electrical Engineer - The Person:
This is a perfect opportunity for an experienced engineer seeking to move to a market leading business where you will be involved in all aspects of engineering operations. This role will suit a proactive individual with proven experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, including fault finding.
With a background in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and hands on experience with pneumatic systems, pumps, valves and boilers, ideally, you’ll also possess skills in control systems, automation, PLC/SCADA programming.
A good understanding of 3-phase and single-phase electrical systems and the ability to read schematics and produce technical documentation is needed, familiarity with lifecycle maintenance and remote monitoring systems as well as experience in the dairy industry is desirable.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with colleagues and customers is essential. You’ll enjoy developing your knowledge across both build and field environments with opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
