Contract: Outside IR35
Location: Plymouth , mainly remote with occasional site visits
Duration: 3 months initially
Due to project requirements, applicants must hold current SC clearance and be a sole British national.
RC Fornax is seeking an experienced Electrical Harness Design Engineer to support a land vehicle program.
Key Responsibilities

Harness Re-Design:
* Re-design electrical harnesses to suit system layout using OEM harness design references.
* Ensure routing, bundling, and termination meet project requirements and standards.

Connector Selection:
* Identify and select suitable bulkhead connectors for enclosure interfaces.
* Collaborate with clients to agree on specifications and integration approach.
* Liaise with supply chain to manage lead-times against project schedules.
*
Documentation & Deliverables:
* Produce detailed electrical drawings and schematics using CAD/ECAD tools.
* Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BoMs) for harnesses and connectors.
* Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with project standards.

Collaboration & Compliance:
* Work closely with mechanical and systems engineering teams to ensure harnesses fit within physical constraints.
* Adhere to relevant standards, regulations, and project-specific requirements.
* Participate in design reviews and provide technical input.
