Civil Design Engineer - Central London - Multidisciplinary Consultancy Location: London (office-based, flexible working hours) Experience: 3+ years Sector: Civil Engineering / Infrastructure Design Attractive salary + full benefits package I'm working with a long-established and well-respected multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with offices across the UK, Ireland, and internationally. Due to a strong pipeline of secured work, my client has an immediate requirement for a Civil Design Engineer with at least 3 years' experience to join their growing London office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a broad range of infrastructure and development projects alongside a high-calibre team, with support to develop professionally and work toward Chartership. About the Projects My client's civil engineering team works on a diverse portfolio of projects, including: Large-scale residential and commercial developments across London and the South East Regeneration schemes and urban extensions, often involving complex site constraints Education and healthcare campuses requiring coordinated drainage and access infrastructure Mixed-use developments with public realm enhancements, roads, SuDS and utilities design Masterplanning support including pre-planning engineering feasibility and flood risk assessments Sustainable drainage strategies, private/public highway works, and detailed Section 38/278/104 designThe role offers the chance to contribute from early concept through to detailed design, with strong mentorship from senior engineers and directors. The Role As a Civil Design Engineer, your main responsibilities will include: Producing and reviewing detailed civil engineering designs, including roads, drainage and external works Supporting planning and technical approvals with local authorities and water companies Coordinating with internal teams and external consultants (structural, MEP, architects) Using industry-standard software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Revit Ensuring compliance with relevant UK and European standards What You'll Need Experience in the design of civil engineering projects (roads, drainage, SuDS) Knowledge of UK, Irish and European codes Skilled in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and/or related design software Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset Must be eligible to work in the UK Desirable Experience Understanding of Civil Engineering products (e.g. manholes, cover slabs, drainage components) Working toward or holding membership of a professional institution (e.g. ICE) Ambition to progress toward Chartered Engineer status What's on Offer Flexible working hours (office-based with flexibility) Accredited CPD and Chartership support Clear path for career development Pension scheme Life insurance (death in service) Sickness pay scheme Additional service-related holidays Regular Lunch & Learn CPD sessions If you're a motivated Civil Engineer looking for your next career step in a supportive and well-structured consultancy environment, I'd be happy to tell you more.
