About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a well-established and growing building services contractor delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical projects across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to play a key role in securing profitable work and supporting continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical installations and associated works

Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to determine project requirements

Conduct site visits where necessary to assess project scope and constraints

Source and negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors

Produce detailed bills of quantities and cost breakdowns

Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify technical queries

Identify value engineering opportunities to ensure competitive tenders

Maintain and update a cost database for labour, materials, and subcontractors

Ensure all estimates comply with current regulations and industry standards

Requirements

Proven experience working as an Electrical Estimator within the building services or construction industry

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and relevant UK regulations

Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications

Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills

Strong communication and negotiation abilities

Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet strict deadlines

Desirable

Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or similar)

Experience working on commercial or large-scale residential projects

Understanding of mechanical services integration
