Job Description

We are working with a well-established building services and environmental solutions contractor delivering electrical projects across commercial, public sector, infrastructure, and sustainable energy environments. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Electrical Estimator to join their South East London office.

This role would suit an ambitious estimator with around 5 years of experience within an M&E or electrical contracting environment who is looking to develop within a technically strong and forward-thinking business operating across modern electrical and environmental projects.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially competitive electrical tenders across a range of projects, working closely with operational and commercial teams from enquiry through to handover.

Responsibilities

  * Preparing detailed electrical estimates and tender submissions

  * Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

  * Carrying out take-offs and producing accurate cost plans

  * Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations

  * Evaluating project risks, value engineering opportunities, and commercial viability

  * Supporting bid submissions and tender presentations where required

  * Working alongside project delivery teams during pre-construction stages

  * Managing multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously

Requirements

Essential

  * Approximately 5+ years’ experience within electrical estimating

  * Background working for an electrical or M&E contractor

  * Strong understanding of commercial building services projects

  * Experience pricing electrical installations including lighting, power, containment, distribution, and associated systems

  * Good knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry standards

  * Strong commercial awareness and communication skills

  * Full UK Driving Licence

Software Experience

  * Experience using estimating software such as Trimble / Luckins

  * Candidates with alternative estimating software experience who are adaptable and willing to learn bespoke systems will also be considered

  * Good Microsoft Excel and general IT skills

Qualifications

  * NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or equivalent

  * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations preferred

  * HNC/HND in Building Services, Electrical Engineering, or similar advantageous

  * CSCS/ECS card beneficial
